About Tamara Bustos

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with extensive experience in the counselling field. I have been working on the North Shore for over thirteen years as a psychotherapist in private practice and have also worked in collaboration with a variety of non- profit organizations. I have spent most of my counselling work supporting adolescents and their parents, and have found this work to be incredibly diverse, challenging, rewarding and inspiring. I love to work with families, couples, individuals and adolescents. My experience as a therapist, a parent, a partner, as well as a business person has provided me a depth of experience to draw on in the clinical counselling work that I do. I support families with a custom approach, providing solutions, guidance and support for each family’s unique circumstances.

I have my Masters in Counselling Psychology and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.  I have completed many other training programs including: Adlerian Parenting Certification, Narrative Therapy Training, Mindfulness Trauma Training, Gottman Couples Training, Emotionally Focused Therapy Training for Couples, as well as training in CBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I have delivered community education workshops to high school students on assertiveness, self-esteem, stress management and crisis coping skills.

Currently I am serving on the board of Lumara Grief and Bereavement Care, a charitable organization supporting children, families, and adults who are coping with serious illness and grief and loss.

I live here on the North Shore and am married with two adult children.
